Dr. Heide Meier has known that she would become a veterinarian since she was very young. She has always had a natural kinship with animals, and she feels that her work as a veterinarian is much more than a job. It's truly her calling! Originally from Palatine, Illinois, she began her veterinary career at the age of 15. She continued to work at a veterinary hospital throughout her undergraduate years at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. She attended veterinary school at the University and received her DVM degree in 1993. She worked in small animal practices in Minnesota, Illinois, and Oklahoma prior to moving to Wisconsin. She was also an associate professor at Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Meier joined the Truesdell Animal Care Hospital team in August 2004 and feels that the most fulfilling part of her job is the relationships she has developed with clients over the years and the care she can give their pets. Dr. Meier shares her home with her husband Bill, their son Christian, her mother-in-law, Janet, a Giant Schnauzer named Merida, an English Labrador Retriever named Tank, three rescued orange and white long-haired cats named Hans, Frans, and Tag-A-Long, and an African Grey parrot named Boo Boo. In her spare time, Dr. Meier enjoys spending time with her family, watching her son play soccer, outdoor activities, walking her dogs, and reading the Bible.
Originally from Madison, WI, Dr. Brittany White graduated from veterinary school in 2003 and joined the Truesdell Animal Care Hospital family in 2008. She has a special interest in clinical pathology, is happy showing interesting microscopic samples to staff and clients alike. She is passionate about preventive care and enjoys seeing new puppies and kittens as much as taking care of sweet older pets. Dr. White also sees exotic pets such as lizards, tortoises, and rodents. She loves working with the exceptional client and patient care teams at Truesdell, where the entire clinic works to make each pet feel as loved at the clinic as they do at home. Dr. White enjoys knitting, crocheting, and model ship building in her spare time. She loves cooking for her husband Bob and making use of the fantastic locally produced food available in the Madison area. They have two incredibly entitled cats named Smudge and Dot and the sweetest Cocker Spaniel in the world, Anthony. In the past they have had guinea pigs, iguanas, tortoises, snakes, and rabbits.
Born in Pennsylvania, Dr. Jeffrey grew up in Ohio with her parents and a wide assortment of pets. She has been exposed to the medical field since a yoing age and realized becoming a veterinarian was a great way to combine her love of animals with her medical interests. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with her veterinary degree and also holds a Master's of Science degree. Dr. Jeffrey's professional interests include feline medicine, dentistry, and preventative care. She joined the Truesdell Animal Care Hospital team in 2013. Dr. Jeffrey shares her home with her husband, tween daughter, three cats - Daisy, Chubbs, and Ginger, and their French Bulldog, Simon. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Jeffrey is a passionate Scottish Highland dancer. She has won many awards and even performed at Disney World;s Epcot Center!
Dr. Jackie Koepke joined Truesdell Animal Care Hospital and Clinic in February 2017. A friendly Wisconsin native, Dr. Jackie is an enthusiastic veterinary professional committed to the complete wellness of her patients. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014 and immediately accepted her first full-time position as an Associate Veterinarian offering primary care and 24/7/365 emergency services in Ripon, Wisconsin. After practicing excellent client service and high-quality patient care in Ripon, Dr. Jackie became a Small Animal General Practitioner and Urgent Care Clinician in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Her areas of professional interest include soft-tissue surgery and dentistry. Above all, she is a feline enthusiast who enjoys keeping cats happy and healthy while supporting the owners who love them. At home, she is the pet parent of two, long-haired cats, Foxie and Gardetto. One of her feline family members believes he is a dog, while the other has classic cattitude. They can't do any impressive tricks, but she loves them anyway! Dr. Jackie embraces a healthy, active lifestyle philosophy. In her free time, she plays competitive volleyball and participates in a variety of workout programs. She also has been trying her hand at cooking and exploring new, delicious recipes.
Originally from Rochester, MN, Dr. Jacy Steele earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2010, as well as her Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. She also completed an emergency internship program at Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI. She has always had a growing interest in pain management, and considers veterinary surgery as her area of expertise. Since 2010, she has worked in emergency medicine, handling more urgent and critical diseases. Dr. Steele finds fulfillment in working with her clients to keep them involved in the care and medical management of their special pets, and is eager to begin forming lasting relationships with the clients and patients at Truesdell. Dr. Steele shares her home in the Madison area with her husband Ed, two children, and black Labrador, Luna. Outside of the hospital Dr. Steele enjoys doing anything outside; hiking, swimming, and chasing her kids!
